Super Easy & Quick Strawberry Lemonade Recipe Highlights
Sweet and tangy, this strawberry lemonade is such a refreshing summer drink!
In the summertime, I prepare lots of lemonades, agua fresca, tizana, etc., to help keep up hydrating in fun and delicious ways.
This homemade strawberry lemonade is so much tastier than store-bought. You’re going to want to make this drink again and again! You can even let your kids help out in making this kid-friendly recipe. Pass them a large wooden spoon and have them stir the drink together in the pitcher.
Bring a pitcher of freshly-squeezed strawberry lemonade to your next barbecue, potluck, or picnic, and you will see how people will actually freak out … in a good way, of course!
Strawberry Lemonade vs. Pink Lemonade
While the base ingredients for both strawberry lemonade and pink lemonade are lemon juice, water, and sugar, the main difference lies in the additional ingredients used to create their distinct flavors. Strawberry lemonade includes fresh or frozen strawberries, which are blended or mashed and mixed into the lemonade. Pink lemonade can be made by adding red fruit juices like raspberry or cranberry juice, or by using food coloring to achieve the pink color.
My Secret Ingredient for The BEST Strawberry Lemonade Ever!!
My secret to the most delicious strawberry lemonade is Grenadine. This versatile ingredient enhances flavor and provides a sweet touch, taking the strawberry lemonade to another level of deliciousness.
What is Grenadine?
Grenadine is a non-alcoholic syrup made from pomegranate juice, sugar, and lemon juice. It has a sweet-tart flavor and a deep red color. It is commonly used to boost sweetness and bright color in mocktails and co*cktails.
Ingredients You’ll Need, Substitutions & Notes
Amounts are included in the printable recipe below (scroll down). You’ll need:
- Strawberries: I love using fresh, juicy strawberries, but frozen strawberries can be used if you don’t have any fresh berries on hand. Check out my post about .
- Water
- Honey: If you want, you can replace honey with sugar, agave, stevia, or another natural sweetener. Use a 1:1 ratio by volume.
- Fresh lemon juice: You’re going to want freshly squeezed lemon juice for the lemonade and not the bottled stuff. Bottled doesn’t taste as fresh and bright as fresh. Plus, that stuff usually comes with a bitter note and will leave you with a slightly unpleasant aftertaste.
- Grenadine: This ingredient is totally optional but highly recommended. It adds color and flavor, which is why my lemonade is super red. Rose’s Grenadine is my favorite, and I use it for this lemonade, my Venezuelan Tizana, and other drinks. I buy it online at Amazon.
How to Make Strawberry Lemonade Step by Step
Detailed instructions are included in the printable recipe below (scroll down).
- Blend
Place the strawberries, 1 cup of water, and honey in a blender. Blend at medium speed, about 1 -2 minutes.
- Stain
Strain the strawberry juice mix through a fine mesh strainer.
- Mix
Place the strained strawberry juice, fresh lemon juice, grenadine, and the remaining water in a jar. Mix until everything is well incorporated. Taste and add additional honey or/and water, if needed.
Recipe Tips
You may not need to add much sweetener depending on how naturally sweet your strawberries are. So feel free to adjust the proportions of water and honey depending on how sweet and strong you like your lemonade.
The brighter the strawberries, the riper they are. Pick the reddest ones you can find for the sweetest strawberry lemonade.

Congratulations on your first grandbaby Oriana! We had our first grandson three years ago and it’s the best feeling ever. My mom always told me as parents we love our kids but there is just something about the love of a grandchild. I never knew what she meant until Isaiah was born. And the good part is they keep you feeling young. It motivated me to be healthy because I want to be around for a long time for them. 🙂
Thank you for sharing this recipe. This drink sounds so good and the way you showcased it here, it looks so pretty. 🙂
Have a wonderful weekend!
