Entrepreneurial success often comes after multiple setbacks and learning from failures. Susy and Cathy Imbriglio have all my admiration. Their story will undoubtedly inspire others to play to their strengths to weather challenges like labour shortages, inflation and high interest rates. #Leadership #WomenEntrepreneurs #FamilyBusiness #Entrepreneurship

Saturday, April 20, 2024: Thrilled to share my experience from the (ACCE) Association of Chinese Canadian Entrepreneurs 2024 Annual Awards Gala, held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on April 20th. Over 1,000 attendees from various industries, community partners, and all levels of government gathered for this grand event.I was particularly inspired by the ongoing support of BDC, the title sponsor, whose commitment to entrepreneurs is unwavering through both highs and lows of business cycles. During the gala, Yvonne Chan, ACCE President, Founder and CEO of Sante Circle Health, and Paula Cruickshank , SVP Ontario at BDC, shared a compelling story about how BDC provided crucial financing and advisory solutions to Sante Circle Health when traditional banking options were unavailable. This support helped transform Sante Circle Health into a multimillion-dollar company that significantly enhances people’s lives post-illness, injury, or accident.Listening to the stories of the incredible winners was truly inspiring. A special congratulations to Jess Mok, founder and CEO of Decomomo, for clinching the 2024 ACCE Asia Pacific Award presented by Emily Mo, Director, Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office at the HKSAR Government. Jess demonstrates exceptional quality in leading Decomomo through her focus on innovation, sustainability, and customer-centric design. Her dedication to creating high-quality, eco-friendly products, range from storage bins to decorative baskets, showcases her commitment to both environmental responsibility and meeting the practical needs of consumers.A heartfelt thank you to Kris Depencier, RBC Regional President, Ontario, for presenting the Lifetime Achievement Award to Mr. Susur Lee at Susur Lee Restaurant Group sponsored by RBC. Your warm introduction of Mr. Susur Lee was highlight of the evening. Chef Lee's journey is a testament to the immigrant dream; starting from humble beginnings as an immigrant with a passion for food, he has built a renowned culinary empire. His story is a vivid illustration of how dedication, talent, and hard work can lead to expansive success.Yvonne Chan urged all ACCE entrepreneurs and businesses to reach out to BDC for financing, advisory services, and resources as soon as possible. The impact BDC can have on your business is profound.A big shout out to the ACCE committee members, Masters of Ceremony, staff, and volunteers. Your dedication and effort were key to the success of this memorable evening. Peter Drucker famously said, “If you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it.” That certainly holds true for decarbonization. Estimating your company’s carbon footprint emissions is a foundational step in establishing a realistic reduction plan. 🌎

I think that the lesson here isn’t so much that you need to eliminate or reduce costs. Every company does at some point. The key is to establish a decision-making process to track efficiencies and waste. #BusinessTips #Efficiency #LeanManufacturing

Using the right financing for your specific needs is so important. A line of credit and a capital loan will affect your timeline differently; make the right choice.
