Is Medi-Share part of the PHCs network? ›

Doctor Network – Medi-Share has a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) network of doctors. It's built on MultiPlan's PHCS network, which is the same company that manages networks for some of the major traditional insurance companies.

Medi-Share is an often religion-oriented medical cost-sharing organization. They have gained popularity and are commonly used as an alternative to traditional health coverage. Individuals contribute a certain amount of money each month to cover each other's medical expenses.

Screening Procedures – Colonoscopies, prostate exams, and mammograms are not shareable under Medi-Share. These are important screenings, but you should plan to pay for them with your own resources. Vaccinations and Immunizations – All costs related to immunizations are excluded.

Private Healthcare Systems (PHCS) is a health insurance company that offers millions of members across the country coverage for medical and behavioral health care. They partner with Multiplan for access to its PPO network.

One of the major drawbacks of a health share plan is limited coverage. Unlike traditional health insurance, these plans may not cover chronic conditions, pre-existing conditions, or expensive treatments.

Reviews are mixed, with some users finding they save money compared to insurance, while others found trouble getting claims approved and disliked the overarching restrictions. Does Medi-Share cover emergency room visits? ›

With Medi-Share, you select that number when you first enroll. Once you reach that number, Medi-Share only requires you to pay the provider's fees, up to $35 for an office visit, or $200 for emergency room visits.

Are prescriptions eligible for sharing? The cost of CMS or FDA approved testing, treatments, and up to six months of FDA approved prescription drugs per eligible condition will be considered for sharing.

Medi-Share does not cover the following:

Dental, vision, and hearing: not eligible for sharing but can get exclusive discounts. Routine and preventive care: this includes physicals, immunizations, vaccines, mammograms, lab studies, and colonoscopies.

Members Pay Provider Fees

Provider fees that aren't covered include routine wellness appointments, dental and vision check-ups, annual physicals, and preventive health exams. However, you'll be covered for some of these with Medi-Share Complete, the most comprehensive option.
