Job DescriptionThe Exciting Journey Ahead With the launch of LEGO MINDSTORMS RCX in 1998, the LEGO Group began building experiences that merge digital and physical play, and today has built on this history with products like SPIKE Prime and SPIKE Essential. The technology that enables these types of creative, playful, and impactful learning experiences is designed, engineered, and produced by teams in LEGO Education, a business within the larger LEGO Group. Employing over 250 people with primary locations in TLG’s Global HQ in Denmark and Boston in the US, it is a highly entrepreneurial division with its own P&L, yet intrinsically linked to the LEGO brand and its values of learning through play.

Over the past few years there has been a dramatic explosion of Educational Technology (edtech) across the education ecosystem. The rapid adoption of digital tools and the integration of more progressive approaches to combat learning loss and bring students back into the classroom have all significantly changed LEGO Education’s operating environment. This has presented LEGO Education with an unprecedented opportunity to greatly expand its reach, impact, and commercial performance beyond supplementary education and into core subject classroom. Core Responsibilities

• Sales Strategy and Planning
• Develop and implement a strategic sales plan aligned with growth ambitions for a 3-year time horizon, translating it into a focused and execution oriented annual plan.
• Analyze and educate peers and the wider organization on US market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth.
• Set ambitious but achievable sales targets and regularly evaluate performance against these targets to identify course corrections.
• Team Leadership
• Develop and lead a top performing, regionally distributed, sales team. Provide feedback, coaching, direction, and support to drive performance and impact through a team of sales leaders.
• Foster a culture of fun, inclusion, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Establish clear performance metrics and targets to drive accountability and success.
• Encourage understanding of the end-to-end business and meaningful connection to other LEGO Education colleagues and functions.

3. Customer Relationship Management

• Build and maintain positive relationships with key partners in the education sector, including school administrators, district leaders, and other decision-makers.
• Revenue Growth
• Drive the sales team to meet and exceed revenue targets through effective sales methodology, territory plans, creative solutioning, and relationship-building and management.
• Explore new business opportunities as relevant while remaining focused on the execution of the current strategy.
• Data Analysis and Reporting
• Provide key input and help to drive the development and improvement of the insights and analytics function to become a predictive tool in driving sales growth.
• Apply data analytics and reporting tools to assess sales performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
• Provide regular, insightful reports to peers and LEGO Group executive leadership on sales achievements, challenges, and opportunities.
• Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams
• Partner with peers and colleagues in product development, marketing, operations, finance, and other enablement functions to ensure alignment of US sales efforts with overall company objectives and vice versa.
• Collaborate with the global and US marketing teams to increase brand awareness to target audiences and to generate leads and ensure effective lead conversion strategies.
• Provide valuable input and insights into product development based on customer feedback and market insights.

Do you have what it takes?

• Strong background, and experience within education and familiarity with the challenges and opportunities within K-12 education translated to an effective commercial strategy on a 3-5 year horizon.
• Commitment to ethical conduct in sales practices and adherence to industry regulations.
• Proven track record of success in commercial leadership roles within the Ed Tech industry including critical thinking in anticipating industry trends and proactively adapting sales strategies to changing market conditions.
• Experience leading a sales function through periods of change and transformation.
• Willingness to experiment with innovative sales approaches and methodologies.
• Proficiency in using data and analytics to make informed decisions. Expertise in CRM utilization and other sales technologies to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and empower a sales team while encouraging accountability and high-performance standards.
